Project Code breaker is a systemic intervention that aims to provide mechanisms for employment and self employment by initiating a series of reforms and changes within the funding sector, structural and legal frameworks that allow access to entering employment and self employment among those who have come out of the criminal justice and mental health services.
At this point we have begun a series of interviews to research the current barriers to employment and self employment, chart the journeys of those who have been able to successfully enter employment and self employment and isolate what measures have been effective for those who have been able to do this. We have now interviewed 9 individuals including those in forensic services, ex offenders and those who have been in psychitatric hospitals.
We are also working with Dr.Jude Nurrator a researcher who studied at Dundee university on this project.
