In October 2024 we began working with a young musician who has learning disabilities, experiences of suicidal ideation and gang crime. During our project we recruited him and got him to record Two songs about Black history after having one on one conversations where he read Ottobah Cugano quotes and we discussed these quotes with him. Alongside his work on Dark Thoughts he received follow on support where he decided he wanted to write a film script. As a result he received screenwriting sessions which resulted in him completing a 3 part film series based on gang violence. Following this we supported him with the writing of funding applications and registering his own Company. We also organised meetings with funding officers for him. In addition to this his work was featured in the documentary series we made.
